The Company / SolidWorks Sustainability
August 23rd, 2010
SolidWorks Sustainability allows users to measure the environmental impact of the products they design in SolidWorks. The SolidWorks Sustainability products are fully integrated into SolidWorks, and provide real-time feedback on the environmental impacts of Carbon Footprint, Total Energy Consumed, Effect on Water, and Effect on Air.
“All team members are looking forward to taking advantage of Sustainability. We will now be more efficient in the selection of our concepts which have the least environmental impact. Also, with the tools included in Sustainability, it will be a lot easier to make presentations internally,” said Jonathan Hardy, New Products Project Manager.
“I believe that involved industrial design and the manufacturing of eco-friendly products are key ways to reduce our environmental footprint. The integration of tools such as the sustainable development module of SolidWorks are significant improvements that allow Philips Lumec to achieve its corporate objectives and will make the designer part of the solution,” said Jean-Francois Simard, President of Philips Lumec.
