The First International Dark Sky Reserve in the World Celebrates 5th Anniversary.

The International Dark Sky Reserve (IDSR) in Mt Megantic Quebec just celebrated its 5th anniversary. On September 21, 2007, the region of Mt Megantic was officially designated the first International Dark Sky Reserve in the world!The Mt. Magantic International Dark Sky Reserve covers an area of almost 5,500 km2 .It is centered on the Observatory within the provincial park and has a radius of 50 km. The Reserve also includes the City of Sherbrooke, 60 km away. Mont Megantic is located in Quebec’s Eastern Townships, about a 3 hours’ drive east from Montreal.[...]
